Hello friends!
For a long time, I was in denial. But as I visited colleges in February, I began to accept that my business is going to have to scale back to accommodate my studies for the next four years.
I have two feelings about this realization. One is that I wish it didn't have to be this way, that I could keep expanding and exploring new business ideas, all while finishing a degree in four years. But the other part of me, the one that loves to learn and try new things – and let's be honest, the burnt-out part of me, too – is really excited to be focusing down and taking an indefinite break from many aspects of my business that aren't as important.
I am, as you might guess, planning to study art. Touring different art departments and seeing all the possibilities, all the artistic methods I've never even tried, made me ecstatic with excitement for the years to come.
The majority of my life is still ahead of me; I don't need to do everything I ever want to do right now.
So what exactly am I doing differently in my business? The largest thing is that I will not be selling stickers, cards, or art prints on my website any more. I mean, it would be pretty hard to store and ship inventory from a dorm room. Instead, I am focusing my efforts towards my Spoonflower shop.
That said, this spring I do have a few local times and places in-person where I will be selling my current inventory. The first one is coming up quickly and I can't wait!
You can visit my events page to learn about the other events I have coming up.
Thank you all for continuing to support me through the down-shift!
