Noemi's Notes No. 11

Hello friends!
Maybe it's the newness of spring, but I feel a strong urge to try new things, watch tons of tutorials, and just spend hours lost in the creative flow. Do you get that feeling sometimes?
I have been experimenting with different mediums and content in my art. I started a series of native Virginian birds, which I hope I can display in an exhibit this summer.
I also got out my dip pen the other day to illustrate some cherries, and it turned into a whole mini collection (oops!).

Since I wrote last, I attended a local market and had a popup booth at the lovely Lady Jane Shop. At both, I enjoyed getting to meet new people and connect with other artists, which are my favorite aspects of doing in-person events!
If you didn't get to say hello at one of my last events, I have one more pop-up lined up on May 10, 10-6 at the Agora Market.
I like to say that art is my business and sewing is my hobby. I love tailoring my clothes, and this month I turned a pair of jeans into a skirt, added puffed sleeves to a tank top, and took in the waist of a dress. (You can see pics on my Instagram.) It is so gratifying to improve something so you love it!
I still have a dream of making a whole dress from my own fabric . . . I have yet to find the time!
Talk to you soon :)
