Hey there!

The last month has been fun, sprinkled with relaxed moments and family fun and creativity. But to-do lists don't disappear just because it's summer. I keep finding myself conflicted between creating art and being what society calls "productive," just crossing tasks off a list.

I have to remind myself:

Creating art is productive.

Making things calms me down, gives me energy, and helps me do administrative tasks more efficiently and with less stress, instead of floundering around doing busywork. Without the art, we wouldn't have this newsletter.

I hope that with what remains of summer, you have a chance to create some art of your own.

Last month I opened my "Home to Me" exhibit with Arts Incarnate.

The opening reception went really beautifully and I can't say enough how grateful I have been for the opportunity to share my work with others. It is amazing to see people enjoy my art and hear how they connect to specific pieces.

If you didn't get to see the exhibit, you can see a all the pieces and read my artist statement online or visit it in person through August 31.

A few of the pieces are still available, but if your favorite already has a home, there are prints available of all of the paintings from the show!
