Well hello!

I am back at my desk after a week of travel in Puerto Rico!

The cool thing about traveling as a creative is the wave of inspiration that comes with seeing new things and experiencing a different culture. I got to explore the history and art of Puerto Rico by visiting the beautiful Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico in San Juan, which was full of amazing work in all styles and mediums, indoors and out.

Inspiration is a funny thing – to me it is more of a feeling than an idea, most of the time. It wells up in me and gives me the push to create something, anything. Being in PR, taking a break from normal work, has given me what I need to complete the final paintings for my upcoming show in July.

Here's a sneak peek of a couple of pieces from the exhibit.

Note: The gallery opening will be on Thursday, July 3, instead of Friday, which is Independence Day.

What with being in Puerto Rico and getting everything ready for my exhibit (so. many. logistics), I haven't been doing much else, except for occasional gardening breaks and visiting with family and friends.

I am so looking forward to sharing the full collection of new pieces with you next month!
